Introducing the ISV New Testament Audio Book Project

We have completed script pre-production of the ISV New Testament Audio Book. In keeping with the ISV tradition of commitment to excellence, the ISV New Testament Audio Book will utilize full orchestration, state-of-the-art sound effects, and professional voice-over artists to bring the ISV New Testament to life. Every single word of the text of the International Standard Version New Testament is contained in the script, including section headers and book description tag lines taken from the ISV Table of Contents. Click on the microphone image to the left or click here to download the ISV New Testament Audio Book Script with Production Notes in Adobe PDF format.

A Word about Giving...

While we do not actively seek donations from public or private sources, we don't turn them down when offered, either. If you would like to make a voluntary contribution to the ISV Foundation to assist us to recover our costs incurred in producing the International Standard Version, you may donate online using either PayPal.com, or Paybycheck.com, or you may contribute the old fashioned way using snail mail. In addition, you may choose two alternative giving methods, Goodsearch™ or GoodShop™, which are described below. Here are your choices:

Donation through Paybycheck
Donation through PayPal
Donate by snail mail
Use the GoodSearch™/GoodShop™ Search engine and support the ISV Foundation

Donate Online with a Personal Check using Paybycheck.com

PLEASE NOTE: Because Article 3, Negotiable Instruments, of the Uniform Commercial Code authorizes us to endorse a check on your behalf, a wet ink donors' signature on the payer's endorsement line of an electronic check sent to us from Paybycheck.com is not necessary. For Internet transactions, our service meets all NACHA guidelines and Regulation E requirements. All data is encrypted using 128 bit SSL certificates. Paybycheck also securely encrypts all session information. Paybycheck does not sell or grant access to any information unless required by law or court subpoena.

In case you're wondering what it costs us to receive money from the folk at Paybycheck.com, we're charged USD$1.08 for each transaction, no matter what the size of the donation. By way of contrast, the folk at PayPal charge us a fee of about 3% of each transaction.

Happy Resurrection Day...and Christmas, too!

Here are two Christian holiday cards, published by Davidson Press for the ISV Foundation in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. We call them "Back to Basics" cards because they quote the ISV Bible accounts of the resurrection and of Jesus' birth...word for word. No editorials, no theological theories...just good, old fashioned world-class Bible translating. Enjoy...

ISV v2.0 e-Sword and Pocket e-Sword Modules

How to Install e-Sword's ISV Module:

These e-Sword modules were produced for the ISV Foundation by Mr. Tom Whittemore. These modules are not supported by e-Sword at the present time because the Old Testament portion remains incomplete. We have tested these modules, and except for a few cosmetic issues, the modules appear to be functional. Click on either one of these files below and save it to your computer:

bulletExecutable program archive file

bulletUnarchived .BBL file

You don't need to download both files to your computer. Choose either one of them. Then follow these instructions:

bulletFor the Executable program archive file

If you want to install the module automatically, download and run the Executable program archive EXE file. The following screen will display:

Edit the Extract To: field to reflect the folder where you store your other e-Sword files. Then hit the EXTRACT button to extract the ISV file so your copy of e-Sword can use the new module.

bulletFor the unarchived BBL file module

Download the file directly to the folder where you store your e-Sword files.

The current release of the ISV contains the entire Christian Bible except Isaiah.

PLEASE NOTE: A bug in Microsoft Word's odd-page header placement functions causes the chapter and verse identifier to display the last verse of any paragraph that continues to the next page, instead of displaying the last verse that appears at the bottom of the page. We reported the bug to Microsoft and were told that a fix would be developed and released "eventually". That was way back a lifetime ago in 2001. Also, we have received reports from some users that when the ISV DOC file is opened in OpenOffice 2.x, OpenOffice can take up to 20 minutes to convert to the *.odt format, that the resulting *.odt files do not convert header contents (i.e., chapter and verse numbers) accurately, and that they have a tendency to display more complex tables of contents than are contained in Microsoft Word DOC editions of the ISV.

We expect to release version 1.6.1 of the ISV Old Testament, containing all books of the Old Testament by mid-summer 2009, at which time we will release a final edition of the ISV v.2.1 We expect that our Dead Sea Scrolls textual apparatus will be complete late Summer or early Fall of 2009, at which time we will release a final edition of the ISV, recasting the version number of the release to v.3.00.
