contained in Genesis, Leviticus, Isaiah, and Ezekiel remain to be

86% of the ISV is complete in at least a base translation.
We are pleased to announce
availability of a free download of an e-Sword module and a Pocket e-Sword module of a pre-release
edition of

Both were produced for the ISV Foundation by
Tom Whittemore
of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Tom Whittemore reports that his wife has been diagnosed with
lung cancer. As a survivor of three arterial bypass operations
since November 2007, Mr. Whittemore and his wife
could use your prayers. The
link above is to his email address. Why not take a moment to write him
and say "Thanks" for producing the ISV e-Sword modules and to tell him
you're praying for him and for his wife...? |

We've been impressed with the quality of suggestions that have
come in from serious students of the Bible, so we're announcing the
ISV Open Source™ program,
by which all ISV readers
are invited to comment on how
specific passages of the current release of the ISV can be rendered clearer
and even more insightful in the next version. Final
decisions on acceptance of textual suggestions will remain with the
Committee on Translation
so we can
maintain scholarly standards
set by the ISV Foundation.
